Zara Mango vs revolution in e-commerce

The online set shop Zara has been one of the main news of the útiltimos 30 days and is causing a revolution among companies, who see the big chains are also monopolizing the online market clothes young fashion .

While its main competitors (Mango and Springfield [Cortefiel]) and e-commerce conducted end-user oriented, Zara was still refusing to adopt this model ... everything changed on September 2 when Zara launched its new online store.

During the launch of this new portal, public expectations were big and strong buzz was generated in the network. On the other hand, Zara and invested spared no means strong in promoting your new website. The results were dramatic: from day already doubled the number of visits Mango and still remaining well above. Let's see how they did.

Zara Vs Mango - NetsuusThe image I show along these lines shows from where the traffic came three websites (Zara, Mango and H & M), during the month of September.

This chart was created by Netsuus (A company specializing in competitive intelligence company) and is part of the report they have developed to study the launch of e-commerce Zara. The report is free to download it and just fill in the form found on its website: report Zara

In the attached image and in the same report, we can see the big bet by the PR blogs Zara has made when planning your action plan online, vs its competitors. And, in a more traditional line, the big bet this badge by public reslaciones press. We can also observe a strong presence in social networks. Zara has already managed to pass the 5 million Facebook fans milestone both nationally and globally very few companies have achieved.

Until now, when in class we analyzed the evolution of companies young fashion on the Internet, we saw that Mango was doing a great job of marketing on social media and specifically Facebook in which the company performing exclusive promotions for their fans, and which was also getting increased visits to physical stores ... from now on we will also analyze Zara strategy and techniques used.

Analyzing the image of Netssus, we note that it appears that H & M has become the company Queen 2.0 (videos and social networks) although still without electronic commerce. We will have to analyze well what kind of actions performed (write another article when I have it clear).

It will be very interesting to see how they evolve strategies Zara, Mango and H & M to better position than their competitors. And it will be interesting to track what actions undertaken at the level of web 2.0, public relations (in press and blogs) and other techniques of Digital Marketing.

Research and managers of references 2.0

One of my short-term goals (meaning "short" as 3 years time, approx.) Is to conduct an Internet-related doctorate. To do this, just in teaching at the UAB, give lectures, run a business and be a mother of 3 children, were not enough, now I'm studying a Masters in Information Society and have chosen the branch of the master engaged in research to Ph.D. start next year.

There are many types of bibliographic managers, both free and paid software, desktop or online, and a large part of them can be integrated into Word and Internet browser you use. (You'll find more info on these programs in this post Abysnet)

After trying some of them, I opted for Zotero (www.zotero.org).

This program is online, integrates with Firefox to automatically record the references we obtained online (not integrated into Explorer), and integrated into Word, go quoting, automatically all the references we have introduced in our base data, and to create the literature referenced document we work.

Zotero also has a social network based on sharing literature related to specific topics.

As for now I will focus on investigating the advantages of online incorporation of traditional trade, as well as the key success factors of these businesses when they decide to have a presence on the webI created a group dedicated to sharing literature refers to this field of research.

The group is open and anyone can join him. For now I'm alone (I believe yesterday), but if you want to research this subject, you can join my group by clicking here (eCommerce & Digital Marketing) And help create a good bibliographic database.

On the other hand, if someone else is using Zotero and want to share tips, tricks, etc. I'll be happy to do so. Right now, for example, I'm trying to figure out how I have to write articles of a post of a blog to automatically Zotero to recognize them and with one click you can incorporate into your database (...'ll look plugins for WordPress to see if I find anyone to serve me. Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated).

later note: I have found a WordPress plugin that converts into easily interpretable data post for Zotero reference type managers. It can be downloaded here: Plugin para WordPress

Introducing the Digital Marketing Guide Manlleu

Cámara de Comercio de BarcelonaToday has been presented in Manlleu, the headquarters of Barcelona Chamber of Commerce held in this city, the Digital Marketing Guide published by this camera and PIMESTIC.

Part of the presentation consisted of a mine paper entitled "9 Techniques to attract visitors to a Website". In this talk I explain 9 ways to attract traffic to a website.

The presentation was a success, the room was full, companies have asked questions and out, people have been enough to talk to me and to inquire about PIMESTIC aid for companies.

As always, I have perhaps entertaining too in search engine optimization, but since it is the cheapest technique number 1, the most effective and, I think it's worth explaining a little more than time allows me ... not today it has been an exception. Also explaining how optimizing an SEM campaign I think I've become too long ... but again, people asked and asked for more. How can I refuse?

Total, instead of one hour, my presentation lasted 2 hours ... but no one has complained, nor has gone before completion, so I think they have found useful and immediately applicable in their business.

If someone in the public visiting the blog, here are the links related to the paper:

Next: Penedes Vilafranca on 31 March at 9h30 ', at the headquarters of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce in this city.
