The best tools to know your position in Google

Although we are in the holiday period I am spending a few days to complete a work commissioned by the Themis Foundation (Part of the World Tourism Organization) and I had to check the positioning of a website. My surprise was great when I found that some of the tools I normally use, no longer work or are paid now (and therefore not be able to use them in class with my students). So here's this article updating the list of tools that will help us to know our position in Google.

google Analytics

This is by far the best tool to know our position for certain key phrases. But it only works if three circumstances:

  1. Google Analytics have access to the web.
  2. Google Analytics is properly configured and connected to Google Webmasters (if you know how to do it here I'll explain: Connecting Google Analytics with Google Webmasters )
  3. Our SEO is well done and as we position for the key phrases (otherwise, Google Analytics will not tell the position of our website)

Unfortunately I do not, at work I should finish this holiday, access to Google Analytics website ... I must use other tools.

SERPS

For me this is one of the best tools today. In its free version it allows multiple searches and the results offered are useful as they can be segmented by country and by search engine.

Google Position Checker tool

This is also a good tool for monitoring the position of a website in Google. 100% free. Even if you only indicates the position if you are among the top 300 search results ... but it is more than enough.

NO RUSH

This used to be 100% free and my favorite tool. Now only it allows you to make a certain number of searches per day with the free version. In class it does not work because it detects multiple connections from the same IP (the university) and blocks searches.

In SEM RUSH we find our position if we are in the top 20 of Google for "Google organic results," plus another equally important for good SEO strategy information. You can also create a free project monitoring: SEM Rush -> Projects -> New Project.

7 steps to create an online strategy

New Book SEO - Search Engine Optimization

The UOC publishing house is publishing in book form the agenda of the most popular subjects of this university. These agendas are the SEO, I wrote as part of the subject of Digital Marketing taught at various masters and postgraduate courses.

For the paper edition have been updated all the points that are part of an agenda full SEO (Google is constantly changing and must always be updating SEO classes !!) and included illustrations that make facilitate the interpretation of each topic.

Finally, after some weeks of work, it has been an actual book, well edited and as I try to do with all temarios I write, nothing academic. Everything is explained as we would in a face-class. I annoy a lot of practical books on it is unclear what to do ... so this I think everything is very clear!

Web 1.0 to 3.0 in Sant Cugat

Este próximo viernes 12 de diciembre tengo el placer de participar en las jornadas: “Un matí amb l’ADE“, organizadas por la Asociación de Empresarias del Vallés.

La jornada se llebará a cabo en el WTC de Sant Cugat el Vallés. The web works again

Después de meses de batallas con mi antiguo hosting, todo vuelve a funcionar… en un hosting nuevo, claro.

Esta semana (por fin!) he resuelto los problemas que tenía con la actualización de este sitio web. Primero fue el multilengua, que dejó de funcionar… luego fue el “visual composer” de las páginas, que decidió no abrirse más cosa que ha provocado que durante meses, en la página de inicio apareciese un evento de julio… y luego ya, al final, la web no me dejaba ni actualizar el contenido del blog. Todo debido a la configuracion del alojamiento en el que estaba.

Como no he conseguido que las personas de mi antiguo hosting entren razón, he optado por la solución drástica: cambio de hosting.

Ahora estoy alojada en CDmon, que es donde ya recomendaba el hosting a mis alumnos, y todo vuelve a funcionar. Para más INRI, del cambio físico de hosting, que era lo que más me preocupaba y que es lo que requería más tiempo, se han encargado desde CDmon mismo, sin ningún coste. Así que estoy encantada de la vida!

Por fin puedo volver a escribir :-)

Specialization Course in Social Networking and Social Media via Google Hangout

This July from BIMBS (Barcelona International Management Business School) We impart the first formation through Google Hangout.

It's about a Specialization course in Marketing through Social Networks of one month.

Iniciamos las clases el lunes 8 de julio a las 4 de la tarde (hora española). Las clases se emitirán en directo a través de Google Hangout cada lunes a las 4 de la tarde, y podrán visualizarse a través de la web de BIMBS, a través del canal de Youtube de BIBMS y a través de Google Hangout mismo. Cada clase tendrá una duración aproximada de una hora y media.

LinkedIn Ads, finally in Castilian

LinkedIn has finally agreed to allow ads can be made in Castilian.

Otra ventaja (como Facebook en este caso) es que permite que seas tu quien decida si se paga por clic o por veces que el anuncio ha sido visto (por impresión).

Course Creating corporate websites with WordPress - Barcelona

Already opened the deadline for registration of Course Creating Websites with WordPress Corporate which will be held at the headquarters of the Barcelona Global Business School, in Barcelona. The course is 12 hours and held next 17, 18, 19 and 20 July, afternoon (16h to 20h).

The aim of this course is that students leave class with a corporate website 100% complete and functional. Even with the content created. We will also create electronic commerce, provided that WordPress is used as content manager.
