The new marketplace of Facebook is already running

As promised Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook has been heavily involved in e-commerce, but rather the Amazon style has made the Wallapop style. That is, for the moment, the Marketplace is a set of offers posted by users themselves, using geolocation to display products that are closer to the user, and without charging commission on transactions.

Once in the Marketplace, products are displayed by category, price and geolocation. The search engine works quite well, and sell button is located in the most visible part of the page. So nothing to criticize ... all OK.

Bids are created by end users and also for companies that are exploited is not oversaturated, to publicize their products.

Facebook no ha publicado cifras sobre el uso del Marketplace, pero parece razonable augurarle un buen futuro puesto que el comercio electrónico está en pleno auge. Fue a principios de este 2017 que Telefónica ya publicó que durante 2016 más del 50% de los internautas españoles habían realizado una transacción online durante los 12 últimos meses, así que está claro que el Marketplace de Facebook llega en el mejor momento. Veremos cómo reaccionan sus competidores Wallapop, eBay y Vibbo (Anuntis)… y también será interesante observar cómo evoluciona el modelo de negocio porqué lo del todo gratis está bien para empezar y obtener cuota de mercado, pero a medio plazo se necesitan ingresos que al menos cubran los gastos de mantenimiento del sistema, por más Facebook que seas.

Day of good practice in social networks and Web 2.0 in Amposta

The March 6 I have the pleasure of participating in the conference on Social Networks and Web 2.0 organized by Tourism Amposta, Amposta.

This day will be divided into several sessions that will develop throughout the day, and all are created from best practices in communication in social networks collected throughout the year. The goal is to serve as an inspiration to the audience and never found again faced the dilemma of being in front of the control panel Facebook or Twitter and do not know what to write to their users or how to boost the encipiente community of customers who continues on these networks:

Facebook Inspiration in Girona and free

It does not happen every day that we have on the agenda activities open to everyone and also are free of charge. Even so, today's proposal is one of these!

On Tuesday 11 March, I have the pleasure of teaching in the Parc Tecnològic of Girona, along with Helena Casas, A class of the most fun we teach: Facebook Inspiration. The session is organized by the Girona Tourist Board Costabrava and our Research Institute (3isic).

This talk lasts 3 hours and explain it all good practices in business communication through Facebook that have been collected during the year. And we explain duo: Helena explains the action and the key factors that have brought success to the company that performed the action. In total more than 30 super good practices, explained in an entertaining way and serve as inspiration for attendees.

We started preparing this type of class a couple of years ago when we realized that a lot of community managers They knew exactly how Facebook works, but instead did not know how to energize their communities or what to tell their users everyday. So we are dedicated to collect and write down all the good practices that were finding, to have material for more than 10 hours. The day 11 is a talk with the very best of good practices found.

Who says Facebook is not useful? Just ask the Club Elvis Spain

I have heard many times that social networking is to spend time, that at the enterprise level leave much to be desired, or they need a lot of dedication, ... generally a long list of excuses to no longer be, at once, to work on 2.0 Markerting correctly.

The truth is that social networks, like other tools that Internet offers us, are very useful both for companies and institutions, as well as for individuals. But dedication and require minimal training.

This week following the concert that the TCB Band (The original band Elvis Presley in the 70s) offered in Barcelona on September 22I was discussing with Helena Casas, fellow teacher BIMBS and of the UABThis fact, when I explained how he is running for her Facebook Elvis Fan Club... And Helena, besides being a teacher, is semi-professional singer and is the Community Manager of Elvis Fan Club in Spain.

Helena told me that initiated the club activity on FB in January 2012 and since then they have not stopped growing followers of FB, but also in number of club members thank both the network and the events in which they participated. Regarding the latter, Helena told me the great opportunities that have come their thanks to be present on Facebook:

  • A contributor to the BBC You know through the network and intends to participate in Best Spanish Elvis event held in Benidorm this spring.
  • The agency Open Events Group is brought into contact with the club who believe the Elvis Day, on one of the days of the Barcelona Harley Days that took place in Barcelona in July (event attended by more than 1 million people).
  • Elvis's original band (TCB Band) is contacted with the Club to promote your cruise (leaving 23 September Barcelona), and after discussions with them, the Club Elvis Spain, decides to hire them to act in Barcelona the day before cruise, the September 22 at the ApoloAs a unique opportunity for all fans of Elvis and these musicians mythical.

In all 3 cases they have been others who have come for the Club, without them having to go asking for collaboration in events.

Participation in events has obviously brought new partners, but also greater coverage of events the club itself by the media, for example, this summer, following the 35th anniversary of the death of Elvis, the club he organized a trip to Memphis that was covered by various media nationwide.

So can anyone say that Facebook does not work? Have to spend hours, this is true, but above all, it is hard to communicate something that you love and know how. The rest comes alone.
