For a couple of weeks now, Facebook has been making things easier for all those companies that have finally decided to move their profiles to pages. To do this, it has created a new feature that allows conversion to be carried out in a minimum amount of time.
This is a problem that affects a good number of companies and entities that, instead of creating their profiles in the form of a page, used a personal profile. This practice was sometimes deliberate, because with a personal profile you could write on someone's wall, but you couldn't do it from a page... this changed a few months ago, and now there is no excuse for not doing things right:
- From a page you can write on whoever's wall you want.
- The pages have statistics.
- The registration forms on the pages are designed for companies and entities, those for profiles are not (in a profile you are asked for age, sex, music you like, etc.)
- Pages have an unlimited number of fans (which is not the case with profiles, which are limited to 5,000 friends).
- The pages allow the inclusion of HTML code that makes them more attractive and with more functionality.
- Facebook's editorial guidelines state that businesses and other entities must use Pages, not Profiles.
So the reasons are many.
The problem until recently was that you could only migrate a person profile to a company page. by handWith this new tool, Facebook makes it easier to move some of your profile information to a new page, but not all of it. It migrates profile pictures and migrates all your friends (this was the most cumbersome part). But it doesn't migrate supplementary content. What it does provide is information to be able to download the content and then re-upload it to the page.

It is clear that there are 343 fans but they do not supply, they cannot see or interact with them…. It's hysterical... I don't know if you have any idea what it could be.
On the other hand, to the option of registering administrators, I do not leave them, and of course, I cannot access the page of the main administrator (which is the one he had for the company) because it has disappeared.

I don't know if it is possible to transfer friends from a profile to an existing page, as from what I see the application only gives the option if it is to create a new page if I'm not mistaken.

Hi Pablo, the automatic application doesn’t allow you to… but the pages have a function called “import contacts”, from there you can upload lists of emails. You won’t be able to register these emails directly on the page (I think… I can’t remember right now), but you can send them a notification to invite them to do so.
In the personal profile, if I remember correctly, there is a function called “download information” from which you can download everything related to your profile. I don’t remember now if the emails are there or not. Take a look… If I have time this weekend, I will take a good look at the pages menu and the profiles menu… but I think there is a solution to what you are suggesting.

We have moved from profile to fan page. I have passed on all my friends to fans. The problem we have is that he has kept his profile but he is trying to say that we don't have friends, but it wouldn't be a problem if we could see the profiles of our fans, but we can't. The functionality of converting profiles to pages has been very useful. For professionals, you will first create a personal profile on Facebook, but then you will create a company page. The big problem is that there were requests for friendship to the personal profile, coming from my contacts, which in reality required that it be fessin followers of the company page... In addition to the temporary cost that I assumed I would have to manage dues pages (profile and page) now.
Once I have completed the conversion, the management of the two pages appears: the company page that will be created and the profile migrated to the company page. A cop arrives here, the one I have done is to delete the page that interests me. There are no duplicities.
