This morning I had the pleasure of participating in the Seminar Rural Tourism – Outlook 2020, organized by the FES Olot foundation (Fundació d'Estudis Superiors d'Olot).
These sessions analysed the expectations of Rural Tourism for the year 2020 from various points of view. In my case, I explored Rural Tourism of the future from the point of view of technology. Not an easy job.
To do this, I have briefly analysed what I think the tourism market will be like in 2020. What will the individuals who will be part of this market be like (those who are now 20 years old) and how will tourism products have to be adapted to the characteristics of this market.
In the last part of the presentation, I also discussed how Web 3.0 (which is currently being worked on at developer level, but not yet at end-user level [or at least, not at general end-user level]) will offer us new opportunities to promote Rural Tourism services and rural destinations.
The slides of my presentation can be viewed here:
The rest of the presentations were also interesting and I am very sorry to have missed the ones in the afternoon, as I am sure they would have been very useful to me… but duty called and I had to return to Sabadell.

One Response
WELL I AM VERY INTERESTED IN TOURISM AND THE BEAUTIFUL THINGS ABOUT OUR DEAR COUNTRY. PS UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE POLITICIANS WHO ONLY CARE ABOUT FILLING THEIR POCKETS AND PS SOMETIMES WE GET DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THE WONDERS WE HAVE... IT'S BECAUSE WE ARE REAL PERUVIANS THAT THEY DON'T LET US KNOW MUCH ABOUT OUR HERITAGE AND OUR TOURISM...THANK YOU. GREETINGS
