Google Analytics in real timeWith all the hustle and bustle of Christmas and the days leading up to it, you may not have realized that in Google Analytics now offers real-time data on visits to your website.

The truth is that it's been a few months now Google Analytics displays real-time data (the Google Press Release It was made on September 29th, but speaking with students and clients I realize that many people are not aware of it, especially because Google only shows this data in the new version of the web interface and people who are used to the old one have a hard time changing.

Viewing data in real time is useful for many purposes:

  • Being able to monitor an advertising campaign (Adwords or not) in real time.
  • Being able to immediately see the effect of a message posted on Twitter or Facebook on our website.
  • The effect of an appearance in traditional media.
  • And why not, to satisfy your curiosity also in real time.

Knowing the data in real time instead of the usual 2 or 3 hours can give us a good margin of maneuver to change the configuration of a campaign or to modify the landing page of an ad so that we can further increase the conversion of our visits.

In short, if you haven't already, this is a good reason to upgrade to the new version of Google Analytics and adapt to the new way of displaying data on our website.
