I read in Expansion that "the film The cosmonaut “It is the first Spanish film that is capable of making the dream of being a film producer a reality”, and that “more than 1,300 people have already done so”. The news explains that this film has been financed by donations from more than 1,300 people, who have agreed to be producers of the film by donating a minimum contribution of 2 euros. With this, in addition to financing the film, they get their name to appear in the credits. If someone decides to invest more than 1,000 euros, then they become an “investor” and have the right to receive a portion of the profits generated by the film.
This is a good example of what has come to be called "crowd funding", that is, crowdfunding. As Brandon Mendelson points out in an article dedicated to the Crowd Funding, explained in a simple concept, is like asking your friends for money but with no intention of returning it, they give it to you because they believe in your project.
The example that made this type of financing widely known was the project "The Million Dollar Homepage", that page that in 2005 sold the space on its website pixel by pixel.
Currently, and according to the article published in the Wikipedia It seems that there are already all kinds of businesses based on the Crowd Funding: t-shirt production, film production, music production, press production, etc… in fact, Wikipedia itself is a good example of Crowd Funding since it is funded by voluntary contributions from those who use it.
What is clear is that the Crowd Funding and the Internet work well together and what's more, Crowd Funding and Web 2.0 are a very good combinationThe widespread use of micropayments will also help a lot in collective fundraising. I hope that NGOs will be able to see the full potential of this!

Hello. Let me confess that I wasn't looking for this post and it's because this topic doesn't entertain me in the least, but I congratulate you because the way you wrote fascinated me. For the first time I have found worthy content on the web. Greetings.
The first civilizations were founded around large rivers that provided the most important resources: water, agricultural land and easy communications. The people of these civilizations knew each other by geographical proximity, and this proximity was what allowed them to collaborate with each other.
Today the "river" is the network, which provides us with information and resources, and contact between individuals is no longer limited to geographical proximity precisely thanks to modern communications, and the interest groups that we can create among ourselves even if we live far away.
I think that a new civilization is emerging around this “river” that is the network and that there will be more and more common projects that were previously unthinkable. The ease that the Internet gives us to unite for common interests will surely give rise to more and more participatory projects. Interesting times await us – and I am not referring to the Chinese curse 😉
