Contents of this article

We are already preparing a new edition of the course Creating websites with WordPress, held in Barcelona, although this time, the organizers are the 3iSIC (International Institute for Research on the Information and Knowledge Society) www.3isic.com).

This course will start on June 5th and will consist of 4 sessions of 4 hours each. These sessions will be held on: June 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th (every Wednesday in June) at the Hotel Grums from Barcelona (next to the Paral·lel metro). The hours are from 4 to 8 p.m.

As in previous courses, the objective is to get students to create their own corporate website using the content manager. WordPress (To give you an idea, here are some pages created with WordPress: www.montsepenarroya.comwww.morecolorum.com, www.cuinadecasa.com, www.pmasters.es, www.3isic.com, www.lonostrearros.cat, …)

The website that each student creates will be perfectly indexed in search engines, will contain Google Analytics codes so that the student can track the visits and contacts they receive, will be registered with Google Webmasters, will automatically connect to the main social networks and, if the student wishes, can also be multilingual with automatic translation or manual translation.

To do this, the student must have a domain name and of a hosting (web hosting) where WordPress will be installed. The domain name costs between 10 euros/year and 15 euros/year for a “dot com”. The hosting costs between 50 euros/year and 80 euros/year.

To facilitate the installation of WordPress, the purchase of domains and the contracting of hosting, we have closed an agreement with the company CDMon.com, which offers these services.

This company offers us hosting with WordPress pre-installed, free of charge for 6 months, in exchange for its logo appearing as a technological partner on the student's website. If you wish to take advantage of this promotion, indicate it when booking the course and we will send you the codes that will allow you to contract the hosting for zero euros.

If you are not interested in promotion, we still recommend that you hire a hosting that has WordPress pre-installed, since you will save time on the technical part of installing this content manager. To serve as a guide, these are the features of the one offered by CDMon in its Junior hosting (which is the one we recommend): https://www.cdmon.com/cas/hosting/ .

In case you don't get a hosting with WordPress pre-installed, don't worry, we will install it with you on the first day of class. Just make sure you have the login and password for your hosting and that it allows the creation of a database. We will do the rest in class.

The total price of the course is €340/student.

He Market value of a website built on WordPress It's 3,500 euros, so for less than 10% of its price and an investment of 16 hours of your time, you can get the website you want, as well as learn how to create it.

During the class, each student will be personally advised on the particularities of each website and will work both individually and in groups. There will be 2 teachers, Helena Casa and myself, and together we will move forward in the creation of each one's website.

The students of the Master in Digital Marketing from BIMBS from the April 2013 edition, can attend this course for free, although it is also necessary to register. If you have already registered for the master's degree, you can take this course in person by attending these classes or online.

As a novelty of this edition, and in order to see how it goes, we have opened the last two sessions of the course to former students who have questions or who want to go deeper into WordPress. The cost of these reinforcement sessions is 50 euros per day. To be able to benefit from this service, it is absolutely necessary to have already taken one of the WordPress courses taught by Helena, by me or by both of us at the same time.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

We talk to each other.

A hug.
