On 17 and 18 September was held the Digital Music 2.0, The conference on music and new formats organized by the ICIC (Catalan Institute of Cultural Industries) through SDE (Business Development Service).
In this edition, the days are included under the Vic Live Music Market and they have done with the collaboration of the ARC (Professional Association of Representatives, Promoters and Managers of Catalonia).
Day 17 were presented Good practice cases application of Web 2.0 to the music promotion and export of artists. The speakers were Oriol Roca (Fourni Produccions Sound) Felix Ruiz (Director of Disco Ocean) and Ivan Jimenez (Director of Naked Man Recordings). The moderator and presenter of this session was Jose Manuel de Ceballos (director de Music Bus).
The talk of these three experts in music promotion was very interesting, but instead of talking about good practice in web 2.0 session ended turned into a forum where listeners (almost all members of the ARC and therefore developers and professional representatives) discussed with the speakers on the state sector and changes in this industry.
Chat, highlight a comment on Last.fm by José Manuel Ceballos, in which he indicated that his team is able to predict attendance at some of their events based on listeners and subscribers to its artists in Last.fm.
Of presentation made by Oriol Roca, highlight the good idea of making a blog type website, maintained by a team of 4 people, who daily have been creating complementary content for each of the songs from his group "The Kung Fu"As they were making recordings. The success of the site led them to edit the disc along with a daily paper that contains the contents of online diary that had been created as preparing the disk.
The next morning, Friday the 18th was held the session in which I participated as a speaker. The presentation was shared with Victor Francisco from ReexportaAnd together prepare a Decalogue of the 10 most common mistakes in online communication for the promotion of music and musical artists.
To carry out the presentation the websites of companies some of those attending the event and many of the slides were analyzed they were good and bad practices by the webmasters of these pages, and since the day before had not been talked a lot about web 2.0, took the opportunity to expand this topic a bit and changed the original presentation I had prepared.
