SEO MOOC Description: Master the basics of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). 2016 has been a year of major changes to Google's algorithm. Learn what's behind a good SEO strategy today, including keyword planning, content optimization, link building, semantic markers, SEO for Ecommerce, local search, and mobile strategy.
It was like giving birth, but the big day has finally arrived! The SEO MOOC that we prepare Helena Casas and myself with the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia, it is finally online.
But what is a MOOC?
MOOC stands for “Massive Online Open Course”. This means that the course is open to everyone and is 100% online.
In fact, it is a course in which teaching is provided through video. Specifically, 21 training videos of an average of 5 minutes each.
Why an SEO MOOC?
Well, SEO has changed a lot during 2016, the great deployment of semantic responses by Google, the creation of the Knowledge Graph, the changes in Pinguin, etc. So together with Helena Casas we decided that it would be good to create a whole series of videos explaining today how SEO works. And since we are both professors of SEO, Multimedia Degree from the University of Vic and this university has magnificent sets for filming this type of video, as well as highly qualified personnel to edit it, we decided to create it under its banner.
How does the SEO MOOC work?
The MOOC consists of short videos that go into depth on each of the aspects that affect SEO. The course is organized into modules made up of 2 or 3 videos. After each module, an online test is carried out to ensure that the student has made progress in their knowledge.
At the end of the MOOC, the student should be able to carry out the SEO strategic plan for a company… and in fact, this is the final exercise.
The course lasts 6 weeks.
Is the SEO MOOC free or paid?
Like most MOOCs, this one can be taken for free and thus obtain the certificate of “Participation in SEO course: Search Engine Positioning”, but since the course is taught within the MiriadaX university platform, an official certificate is also offered, upon payment of the cost, to those enrolled who request it and who have achieved the 100% of each and every one of the modules of the course. This certificate recognizes the successful completion of the course. It can be downloaded as a diploma in PDF format and as a badge, which is also displayed on the platform and can be exported to “Mozilla Open Badges”. The cost of the certificate of completion of this course is €40 (tax included).

I met you in the Instagram course and I loved it. The truth is that you explain and transmit in a way that you manage to motivate the students, no matter how little knowledge we have… in that course I found out about the University of Vic de Seo course: Natural search engine positioning. I found time out of nowhere and managed to finish it although there was some problem and several of the students were not able to send the final test although in theory the deadline had not ended!!
Anyway, I wanted to congratulate you and Helena Casas on the course… it has been very interesting, thank you for all the work behind it, for the knowledge and tools that you have taught us… the truth is that I want to know more!! It has been great for me on a personal level (I have just started a blog) and on a professional level… so from the bottom of my heart, thank you very much for everything.
