Today I discovered a tool that can be useful when you need to make a cover for some work or to illustrate any article… it is about Wordle.
To use it, simply “copy” the text from which you want to extract the words that will be used as tags in the tag cloud and then “paste” it into the tool.
If you don't want to cut and paste text, you can also create a cloud from the text of a URL. Both options are equally good, although I think I prefer the first one because otherwise the cloud will also show the words from the menu, footer, etc.
Once the first sketch has been created, we can customize the font, the type of drawing, the colors, etc. So each person's creativity makes the result unique. By working well on the design and the list of words, the result can be a curious, informative and original illustration.
The cloud that I show next to these lines is the one that is created using the main text of the page «About Montse Peñarroya» from this blog.
The tool is free. From what I've read in their "About Us" it's a personal project by an IBM employee using code created for his company, with permission from the company. So we have both the author and IBM to thank 🙂
Explanatory note:
By the way, in case anyone doesn't know what a tag cloud is:
- A tag cloud is what is shown in the attached image.
- Other words to define a tag cloud: tag map, word cloud, tag cloud, tag cloud…
- A tag cloud is a visual representation of the words that make up a text. The font size increases the more times a word appears.
- It is a type of communication with the 2.0 look.
I hope the tool is useful to you... for my part, I am thinking of making Christmas cards using Wordle and working hard a text suitable for the occasion… we’ll see.
We talk to each other.

That's great, thank you very much for your contribution!
Greetings from A Coruña, 🙂
Good evening Monserrat, I think you have a very complete page regarding marketing and tourism. I have a blog that I have been using for a short time, only 2 months. I publish information regarding the agricultural environment. Well, the truth is I would like to know if you have any knowledge about agrotourism, since I would like to publish about it, since I consider it important. Without further ado, I say goodbye and await your prompt response... thank you and much success...
