On November 5th I have the pleasure of participating in the technical conference organized by the Office of Artistic Diffusion of the Provincial Council of Barcelona, entitled: “To improve communication and achieve more audiences in theaters”.
The programme features several speakers and a round table discussion. Other topics will include the motivations of spectators when attending a play or cultural event, how we can influence their decisions, how to seduce them with our proposals, and many other very interesting and relevant issues for communication between theatres and their audiences.
Among the speakers is Pepe Zapata, marketing and communication director of the Mercat de les Flors (who I hope will explain to us how their new website and the Mercat's entire 2.0 strategy is working), Joan Morros, communication manager at the Kursaal theater in Manresa (a great theater, with a long tradition that energizes culture in the central area of Catalonia), Mireia Tensa, specialist in communication for cultural companies, David Vericat, director of communication at Teatre Lliure, and Sandra Costa, director of La Costa Comunicació, agency specialized in cultural communication.
For my part, I will discuss what a theatre's website should look like, what type of information architecture is most appropriate, how we should take into account each of our establishment's target audiences, and how to use 2.0 tools to promote our shows.
The full program can be seen here
