From 19 to 23: The Juliol of the UB dedicated to Digital Tourism Marketing

Contents of this article

This coming July 19, within the framework of the training days of the University of Barcelona called "the Juliols”, a very interesting course dedicated to the Digital Tourism Marketing in which I have the pleasure of participating.

This course consists of 4 sessions, all of them dedicated to Tourism and the Internet and has been organized by the Director of the Master in eTourism from CETT.

The aim of the conference is to study the combination of traditional tourism marketing techniques with the most advanced techniques carried out via the Internet. Topics as diverse as the position of tourism in a globalised market, what a tourism company's website should be like, how to attract traffic to a tourism website, how to convert visitors into business contacts or clients and how to build customer loyalty through online strategies will be covered.

My participation will be on July 20th, in the section dedicated to the conversion of visits. In my class we will see the Main techniques that will help us maximize the conversion of visitors into clients when they arrive at a tourism company's website, as well as some real cases where improving the usability and persuasiveness of a website has doubled the number of reservations made directly to a hotel. We will also look at web analytics applied to increasing conversion.

For more information about the course and to learn about all the presentations (which, from my point of view, are absolutely interesting and essential): Digital Marketing for tourism companies .

See you at the University of Barcelona.

  1. Hello Montse,

You comment that we should use http://www.sync.es, but the other day we were in http://www.zymic.com

    Which one should we use?

Even though the other day was a bit of a mess, I really appreciate your effort and patience with all of us. There is a saying that goes: whoever keeps going, gets it. And this Thursday WE WILL GET IT!!!

    All the best

    1. Mark, we used Zymic as a backup solution so that students who hadn't purchased a domain or hosting could still take advantage of the class. But Zymic is hosted in the US and we're not interested in that (unless our target audience is there). The installation I did on the classroom screen was on Sync, and that didn't fail, so my recommendation is to use that server… but if you have a trusted provider and would rather do it somewhere else, that's fine. The only thing is that from now on, when I teach this class, I'll have everyone be on the same server so we don't have different admin panels or installations that require taking into account other variables.
      See you.
      A hug
