- Social Media Marketing, the customer takes power. Jaime Pons from ITH (Hospitality Technology Institute)
- Online sales and positioning. Moderator: Enric López from CETT – UB
I find it particularly interesting to hear the different proposals about Web2.0 applications to the hotel sector that Google, Atrápalo and ITH will make, since it is not easy to apply a large number of 2.0 concepts to a hotel website, and therefore new approaches are always welcome.
Toni Mascaró's presentation also promises to be interesting due to the vast experience that he and his company have in the online hotel sector. It will be a pleasure to listen to him.
On the other hand, there is the ICTE talk on the subject of the quality seal. I hope it is also interesting and does not focus only on the certification itself… I read a study a couple of years ago that showed that quality and security seals increased the conversion rate of e-commerce websites (so far, nothing but common sense). But the study went further and analyzed the impact on conversion rates according to the different locations of the seals on the website. Very interesting. In addition, just this week from GeaMarketing and Witbookings We are carrying out an A/B testing battery with a hotel website, where part of the topics we are testing are the impact of quality and safety seals. The objective is to increase the conversion of visits to customers on this hotel website from 1% to 3%. The website is new and has been online since August, so we now have enough critical mass to start carrying out this type of tests, so we are working on it.
A/B testing is very interesting: in some cases we have reached 4.5% thanks to having carried out A/B testing with several versions of pages on hotel websites… but I am getting off track and now I would like to talk about A/B testing and it is a topic that gives a lot to talk about… so I return to the subject of HotelTrack'08 and close the post: See you at HotelTrack next Tuesday!
A hug.
