Yesterday I had the pleasure of participating in the General Assembly of the Product Clubs of the Catalan Tourism Agency, giving a presentation on Digital Marketing and the basic techniques to attract visitors to the websites of tourism companies.
Product Clubs are programmes run by the Catalan Tourism Agency that aim to advise and assist companies in the tourism sector in Catalonia with their marketing. There are clubs specialising in Cultural Tourism, Active/Nature Tourism, Golf Tourism, Gastronomic Tourism and Health and Wellness Tourism.
At the end of the assembly, the day continued with three presentations on various topics. The first of them was given by Dean Gregory of Expedia, who explained the connectivity services between hotel interfaces and Expedia. This presentation was especially interesting since the Expedia representative shared with the attendees all kinds of data related to online booking and the tourism market in general. The next presentation was about the new school calendar and how it will positively affect the tourism industry. The last presentation was mine.
