Tourism Review has published an article indicating that 911 hotels in the United States offer Wi-Fi access to their guests. According to the same source, four years ago, the number of hotels offering this service in the same country was 351. So, we can confirm that this is a service that is increasingly being offered, and that, of course, guests will become accustomed to receiving it.
I don't know the Spanish figures on this matter, but it's striking that only 161 hotels charge for this service, whereas in Spain, the general trend is the opposite: many Spanish hotels offer Wi-Fi to their guests, but few hotels offer free Wi-Fi to all their guests. Still, some are starting to do so and include free Wi-Fi for certain types of guests, for example, in their packages for business men and women or for preferred guests.
It seems that in Spain a correction will have to be made in this regard, and in addition to generalizing the provision of Wi-Fi, it will have to be offered free of charge if complete customer focus is desired.
