Preparing the Online Master in Digital Marketing From UVIC we have been reviewing all the job offers related to this subject, published in Infojobs.net from January 2017 to July. The objective was to find out what the average salary is for a Digital Marketing specialist and what the most highly valued specialties are. The result was the following:
- Many job offers do not indicate salaries, so the remuneration will depend greatly on the candidate's profile.
- The published salaries are below market prices… although unfortunately for the candidates they are quite realistic salaries.
- Many job offers are looking for a “Digital Marketing Director” but they are not really targeting a managerial profile, but rather a digital marketing Swiss Army knife who can manage the “department” in which he or she will work alone. This is why this profile has the widest salary range: from €21,000 gross per year to €40,000.
- The highest paid are the specialists in Business Intelligence and big data with a range from €28,000 to €41,000.
- The lowest paid are the Community managers (This is not a surprise.) Its range is between €14,000 and €17,000.
- SEO is becoming less glamorous every day… and yet it is becoming more difficult every day.
- Web analytics specialists should include the word "Business Intelligence» on their resumes… (and they must be trained, obviously). But this is the most profitable reconversion right now, the best bet to climb positions on the digital marketing salary scale.
If you want to read the entire report with all the salary ranges and specifications for each job, you can see it here: The salary of a digital marketing specialist, I will also be writing an article about each of the jobs over the next few weeks.
I hope this information is useful to you, whether you are a candidate or looking for a specialist in any of the fields related to Digital Marketing.

It is incredible and at the same time strange that the ranges are like that. Precisely, the good professional should know how to add sufficient value to his professional contributions and "know how to sell them." I think that the salaries are in those ranges because the efficient professional capable of achieving interesting results ends up preferring to work as a freelancer or creating his own company.
