Yes, it's true. We do.
The idea was not ours, it was our clients', who in these times of crisis are trying to avoid having to pay for the cost of programming a website and convince us to conceptualize and program their page, at the expense of future benefits or simply as a favor.
But our websites are not cheap. Each one of them is created by a marketing team (which conceptualises it, orients it towards the client and creates the texts), a programming team (which makes it functional, as well as technically robust) and a design team (which gives it that special touch that makes it unique and pleasing to the user's eyes).
So we can't compete with "your_neighbor's_cousin_who_makes_websites", but of course, the results that our pages offer have nothing to do with those of the "cousin" either.
This means that our clients want our websites, but at the same time, in these times, it is sometimes a bit difficult to allocate the necessary resources to them. That is why they try to convince us to lower our prices and even to program for free.
The most fun, and instructive, part of it was the arguments that some clients used to convince us that they wanted the website without having to pay for it. So, in one of those "Friday afternoon" meetings, where we all get together as a team and go over each client and see how each project is going, we thought it would be a good idea to create a contest of arguments to convince us not to charge for a website and to give it away to someone who was in need and at the same time was clever in their arguments.
We are sure to learn a lot from this contest… so the cost of programming and designing the website will actually be spent on staff training.
If you think you can convince us, you could get a free website for your hotel. At least one of the participants will get it (with a booking engine included), it could be you.
Here are the contest rules and entry form: «We give away the website to the hotel that needs it most»
We talk to each other.
A hug.
